Christmas is back this year, and St. Michaels theatre in New Ross weren’t going to let it pass without a serious celebration! Frosty fest is the brand new line up of fantastic events on offer in town this year, with a jam-packed schedule and something to suit everyone, of every age! Make the most of local this Christmas and enjoy the beautiful laneways, breath taking murals and fantastic businesses as St. Michaels Theatre brings the joy and excitement of music and events back to New Ross. Whether it is beautiful memories or picture perfect moments, like you will find at the Santa sleigh at the old bridge, Christmas in New Ross is set to be a magical one.

 

4th and 5th December- The Christmas Band Stand Conduit Lane

Frosty Fest kicks off with some wonderful entertainment on the Conduit Lane bandstand with performances from the fantastic Borderline, Kiss My Grass and the magical crew from Rathnure Pantomime Society. Entertainment for all ages! And it doesn’t stop there! To open the festivities the theatre courtyard will be transformed into a Victorian theatre scene outdoor market for the weekend, so come visit to make the most of the unique gift ideas on offer. And don’t forget, Santa’s post box will be available in the courtyard for all the little boys and girls!

9th December- A Christmas Country With the Stars Show

Join 6 of Irelands top country music stars for an unmissable festive cracker with the accordion maestro Brendan Shine, the wee man from Drumlish Declan Nerney, the gentle giant of country music Mick Flavin, the pure voice of Ray Lynam, young sensation Owen Mac and the energetic Michael Collins who each will perform a string of there top hit songs with a festive feel in the company of Irelands top backing band Keltic Storm. If it is country music you like then this is a show you wont want to miss!

10th December- Gala Christmas Concert

This Christmas come enjoy a (socially distanced) Christmas concert in St. Michael’s Theatre as part of Frosty Fest, featuring some fantastic music from all girl band Maca, soprano Emma Rochford, The Nomads (who are launching their debut CD that night), and the legendary Cork man Seán Ó Sé. An evening of magical talent brought to you by Wexford County Council under the Local Live Performance Scheme.

December 15th – Christmas by Candlelight

Aileen Donohoe has been performing in the West End for a number of years. She performed in the smash-hit musical Wicked for 5 years and won an Olivier for best ensemble performance.  The band is led by West End Musical Director, Robert Scott, currently musical director on the West End and international production of Singin’ in the Rain and he has composed stunning arrangements for the show. Accompanied by the Christmas by Candlelight Trio: Michelle Mason – Cello, Katherine Atkinson – Violin and Vocals, Louise Malone – Flute, Reeds and Vocals. Featuring a special guest performance by Peter McCamley.
