Dear New Ross Residents,
Essential ESB works are required to future proof and secure the electricity supply of New Ross town and the surrounding area. These works include the construction of a new electrical transformer station in Butlersland Industrial Park (adjacent to Culcita) and associated underground connections to the existing electrical network along the old N25 (now R723).
These works will be carried out by Gaeltec Utilities in partnership with ESB. The works on the substation in Butlersland commenced in November, and the underground connections on the R723 will commence in early 2021.
To facilitate the installation of the new underground cable, traffic management will be required on and around the R723. This is to allow the work to be carried out safely. We are liaising directly with WCC to ensure there is minimal disruption to local traffic and businesses.
There will be no disruption to your existing electricity supply due to these works in 2020 or early 2021, with only minor disruptions planned for late 2021.
If you have any queries on these works please feel free to contact our Liaison Officer, or the project specific email below. Project updates and traffic management details will be available at www.visitnewross.ie
