When I close my eyes and imagine Christmas I see a home with a crackling fire and twinkling lights hung perfectly on the Christmas tree, freshly baked goodies fill the whole house with festive aromas and the laughter of family and friends rings out. One of the best parts of Christmas for me is the cheery, festive spirit that floats around, it’s a feeling you would love to bottle!
It’s that feeling makes it magical, that feeling of love and warmth, that feeling that creates and makes memories. No matter your age I bet the nostalgia of seeing your favourite Christmas ad on the tv for the first time makes you smile, or the wonderful joy at seeing the lights of your Christmas tree through the window as you approach home! Christmas most definitely is the most wonderful time of the year!
Of course I love to have that Christmas feeling at home and I start my preparations as soon as I can! I love the build up and the anticipation, the buzz and the excitement. Creating the cozy image that’s in my head of a Christmas home is what fills my mind in the days and weeks leading up to the big day. Creating a welcoming space to come in from the cold, a place where everyone can gather around , eat delicious food and raise a glass, that’s what it’s all about!
Creating a cozy Christmas magical feeling at home doesn’t have to cost the earth, every year there are a couple of little projects that I start as soon as December rolls in and they really get me in the festive mood and have become lovely Christmas traditions for me and my family. So why don’t you put on your favourite Christmas jumper, turn the volume up loud on those Christmas tunes, make yourself a hot chocolate and give these a go. I’d love to see how you get on so tag me Alison @lifeatnumberten on Instagram and let’s share all those festive feels! Much love and a very, very Happy Christmas to you from my home to yours,
