Chop Shop Barber Co.

Ger Merrigan seen a vacant building on South Street and had a vision of creating an industrial style barbers… and Ger knew just the man to call to help renovate the premises – His friend Tommy Quigley, and together (with a little help from Ger’s Father) they went for it, embarking on a full-scale overhaul that was part renovation/part restoration. They salvaged the original ceiling, stone flooring, and behind the plastered walls they discovered original brick walls. They have transformed and restored a brick building in what was, in its previous incarnation, a florists, into what now can only be described as an incredible curated boutique barbers…(it even has its own bar!!)
“I know some people have big, grandiose ideas that take them to Dublin or another big city to find their dream locations, but we wanted to approach this with the idea of bringing our dream space to New Ross” “We wanted to create a relaxed space where people can slow down, get a good chop, just hang out and have a chat at the bar.” Ger explained and he was also quick to mention and thank Tommy because without him it would not have been possible to bring this dream to a reality. Maintaining appointments
and building his dream space meant long hours over the past couple of months but it will be all worth it for the team as the new bigger space will now allow Ger, Sean and Bobby encourage walk-in business having previously been by appointment only.

Ger explained “At Chop Shop, we’ve wanted to create a relaxed space where people can slow down, get a good chop, just hang out and have a chat.” Ger was quick to mention and thank his mentor and friend Noel McHugh from The Cut Throat Club & Academy who he trained with in Wexford Town and also his neighbours Alberts Hair Design who have helped Ger at every corner.
