This postcard features a mural by the artist ‘Friz’ (@thisisfriz) portraying the stag and hound from the New Ross crest as well as a mural of William Marshall and his wife Isabel De Clare, the founders of New Ross. In the next lane (Cooks Lane), crests of 32 Norman families, local to the New Ross District, have been painted, which will soon be mirrored by matching banners on O’ Hanrahan bridge. Funding from Failte Ireland and Wexford County Council allowed New Ross Municipal District bring the laneways of New Ross back to life. Conduit Lane, Back Lane, Lady Lane and Coopers Lane have all been reframed with bespoke Archways made by Gatecraft, with name plates which match the new signs on the streets and laneways and lit with beautiful heritage lighting by Harte Outdoor Lighting.
