Barber Sachin (John) is celebrating 5 years TODAY since he opened his business at Number 4 John Street. Originally from Mauritius, an island in the Indian Ocean, Sachin moved to Ireland 20 years ago and relocated to New Ross to open his small barber shop after working with Boston Barbers in Dublin. Speaking about his passion for barbering, Sachin recalled that when he started, it was mostly “short back and sides” haircuts back then. “The reason I’m still doing it is that I absolutely love the job,” he said.
“I am over the moon with how the business has done in New Ross! I want to thank all the fantastic customers for their support. Everyone has been so kind over the past five years, and I’ve really felt the love,” Sachin added.
The accomplished barber offers sharp haircuts and hot towel shaves. He said: “It makes you feel good. You’re giving back to the community, meeting new people every day, talking to them.
“You learn a lot from the faces you see every day. You talk about all sorts. What happens in barbershops stays in barbershops. People come in, talk to you, and want to let their hair down a bit. It’s very therapeutic.”
